Joann Alford, 92, of Orange, passed away on November 21, 2021 , in Tomball.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Tommy Anthony. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Los Angeles, California, on November 10, 1929, she was the daughter of Glenn Hendrix and Gertrude Beachamp. Joann was a longtime member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church and their choir. She was an avid golfer and adored her family. She will be deeply missed by all who came to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn Hendrix and Gertrude Beauchamp; her loving husband, Jesse D. Alford; sister, Glendine Hendrix; and son, Joe Alford.
She is survived by her children, Judy Sher, Kay Jones and husband Barry and Brent Alford and wife Michele; grandchildren, Joseph Alford, Laura Watters, Jami Nemec, Kara James, Derek Jones, Lindsey Bolton, Joshua Alford and Holden Alford; 10 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Alford.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Larose, Scott James, Jonathan Bolton, Sam Watters, Derek Jones and Barry Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to McDonald Memorial Baptist Church.
