John Helton, 65, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2019, at home surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2019, at First Baptist Church Orangefield with Pastor Cody Hogden officiating. Burial will follow the service at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at First Baptist Church Orangefield.
Born in Orange, Texas, on May 30, 1954, he was the son of J.W. Helton, Sr. and Eleanor Looney Helton. John retired after many years as a Maintenance Technician for Chevron-Phillips. He was a member of First Baptist Church Orangefield. John enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family, fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley. He loved his family dearly and his memory will live on in those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Eleanor Helton.
John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Debbie Broussard Helton; children, Nicole Helton Peveto and Jarred Helton, both of Orange; grandchildren, Gavin Pollock and Kinzlee Peveto; siblings, Tommy Jackson, of Vidor, Janice Johnson, of Orange, Kathy Jackson, of Orange, Jerry Helton, of Chesterfield, VA, and Van Choate, of Orange.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jarred Helton, Bobby Payne, Matt Morgan, Carlo Morris, Van Choate, Bill Reider, David Bonds, and Pruitt Perkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church Orangefield in honor of Mr. John Helton at P.O. Box 288, Orangefield, TX 77639.
