John Morgan Pittman, Jr.
John Morgan Pittman, Jr., 97, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on July 4, 2023, peacefully at home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Royal. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023, at Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, Texas.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City.

Born in Kansas, Oklahoma, on February 25, 1926, he was the son of John Morgan Pittman, Sr., and Bertha Mabel (Patrick) Pittman. John proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army, during that time he received a purple heart. After returning from the Army, John went to work at Texaco for 34 years as a supervisor. John was a member of First Baptist Church of Bridge City, as well as a member of Bridge City Masonic Lodge 1345. He enjoyed being outside fishing, camping, and gardening in his amazing garden. John was a big animal lover. He loved his family most of all and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and John Pittman, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Helen Pittman; daughters, Cynthia Ann Gravenmier and husband, Charles, Patricia Kay Rickenbrode, and Cheryl Lynn Ellis and husband, Ronald; grandchildren, Stacey Hoffmann and husband, Marvin, Jamie Douglas, Lisa Bussell and husband, Jason, Timothy Rickenbrode and wife, Michelle, Phillip Rickenbrode and wife, Amber, James Ellis, and John Ellis; great-grandchildren, Lacey McDaniel and husband, Tyler, Jenna Hughes and husband, Nathan, Carter Lapeyrolerie, Aden Lapeyrolerie, Jaxon Bussell, Luke Douglas, Jonah Douglas, Zane Buchanan, Zachery Rickenbrode, Jaycee Rickenbrode, Austin Rickenbrode, Grayson Rickenbrode, and Henley Rickenbrode; great-great-grandchild, Hayes McDaniel; as well as many other loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Bridge City at 200 W Round Bunch Rd, Bridge City, TX 77611.
