Marguerite Hamric, 94, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 12, 2020, in Port Arthur, Texas.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on February 3, 1926, she was the daughter of Ernest Hanks and Carrie Mae (Wiltshire) Hanks. Marguerite graduated from Stark High School in 1944 where she was a member of the Bengal Guards and even got to attend the trip to Chicago. She enjoyed giving back to her community and spent time volunteering with the Red Cross. Following her husband’s passing, she worked as a Ward Clerk for a short time a Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Marguerite liked to garden and had quite the green thumb. Later in life she enjoyed spending her spare time painting. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Carrie Hanks; loving husband, Richard Paul Hamric; son, Richard “Richie” Paul Hamric, Jr.; and her grandson, Robert Brady Dean.
Marguerite is survived by her daughters, Anna Thomas, of Boerne, and Jacqueline Kyle and husband Keith, of Orange; grandchildren, Paul Dean and wife Melissa, of Houston, Keith Weston Kyle, Jr. and wife Sheila, of the Woodlands, Britton Dean Cooksey and husband Wesley, of Boerne, Brent Kyle-Riviere and husband Julien, of Los Angeles, CA, Richard Hamric and wife Jamie, of Fannett, and Scott Hamric and wife Karen, of Fannett; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Redkey and husband Ryan, Karson Dean, Keaton Dean, Matthew Dean, Madison Dean, Maranda Dean, Cooper Cooksey, Brady Cooksey, Makena Kyle, Keith Weston Kyle, III, Landon Hamric, Macie Hamric, and Nolen Hamric; great-great-grandchildren, Kellan Redkey, Kamiyah McZeal, and Ke’Andre McZeal.
