Aaron Jacks

March 25, 1919 — April 21, 2008

Aaron Jacks, 89, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Orange Villa in Orange.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Pastor Rocky Guerrero, chaplain of Harbor Hospice will officiate. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
Aaron was born March 25, 1919, in Pittsburg, TX, to W.M. and Roberta Jacks.
He grew up on a farm in Zavalla, TX, hoeing cotton and developing a love of the outdoors.
Aaron served in the 9770th Training Service Unit of the US Army during WWII Vetran and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. After the war, he returned to Southeast Texas and joined the Beaumont Police Dept.
In 1961 he became a truck driver for Jefferson County, Precinct 4, retiring in 1983.
Aaron and his wife, Virgie, of 62 years lived in Southeast Texas until 1967 at which time they moved to Nederland, TX. In 2002 they moved to Orange Villa Nursing Home where Aaron became the greeter, welcoming all who visited the facility. He will be remembered by family and friends for his unsurpassed gardening skills and his unconditional love.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Doucette Jacks, parents, W. M. and Roberta Jacks, three sisters and five brothers.
He is survived by his brother in law and sister in law, Charles Ray and Acklin Doucette of Vinton, LA, and sister in law, Georgie Duhon of Gueydan, LA, numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving him are the staff and residents of Orange Villa Nursing Home.
The family extends their love and gratitude to Dr. Wesley Palmer, Dr. Brain Ford, Harbor Hospice and Orange Villa Nursing Home for their care and support.
