Ada Faye Coon Parker, 89, former longtime resident of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2020, in Destrehan, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.
Born in Gilbert, Louisiana, on May 21, 1931, she was the daughter of Jessy William Coon and Fannye Elisabeth Mitchell. Ada Faye was a devoted wife, mother and Nana. Her family was everything to her - especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader, great cook, loved keeping her home beautiful and inviting. She was always cooking and providing for those in need and her holiday trays of homemade divinity, fudge and cookies were always looked forward to by many friends and relatives. She was a faithful member of Pinehurst United Pentecostal Church, Orange, Texas for over 50 years until her move to the New Orleans area where she attended New Life Tabernacle, Metairie, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband for 71 years, Sevelle Parker; her parents, Jessy William Coon of Jena, Louisiana and Fannye Mitchell Coon of Gilbert, Louisiana; her brothers, Donald Coon, TJ Coon, Gerald Coon, and Max Coon.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Pastorella (Howard); her son, Tommy Parker (Dorothy); her grandchildren, Brad Parker (Ranell), Bridget Galatas (Jeremy) and Derek Parker (Leisha); her great-grandchildren, Jacob Galatas, Valerie Parker, Luke Parker, Jude Parker and Audrey Parker; as well as her sister, Joan Flowers.
