Born in Basile, Louisiana June 16, 1928, died in Orange County on July 20, 2009 at 12:18 p.m.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 23, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5:30-9:00 p.m. Wednesday and a rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., both at the funeral home.
Adam moved with his family to Orangefield, Texas at a very young age. His father came to work in the oilfields and later Adam followed his father into the same line of work. After serving in the Navy from 1946-1949, where he earned the WWII Victory Medal upon his honorable discharge from the Navy. Adam worked all his adult life in the oilfields retiring from Cormier Well Service. But not being happy with retirement, he went to work for Orange County Precinct 3. Speedy enjoyed his work and the men he worked with. He retired from the County to take care of his wife of 44 years.
Adam was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Rose Marie Marcantel in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Delores "Aunt Dee" Fusilier; two sons, Lynn W. Marcantel, Jr. and Wayne Peacock both of Houston. One wonderful step-daughter, Linda Manuel and her husband Gary Manuel; one grandson, Jeremy Manuel; one beautiful granddaughter, Jennifer Little and her husband Josh; one great-granddaughter, Jayleigh Little; and one great-grandson, Kale Little all of Dequincy, Louisiana.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Bo LeDoux, Ronnie LeDoux, David Fuslier, Edward Scales and Donald Nolan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Manuel, Lynn Marcantel, Jr. Wayne Peacock, Gary Manuel and Brent Milligan.
