Addie “Annette” Rodrigue, otherwise known as “Granny” to most and “Grandmawww” said in a tiny growling voice by the tiniest 2-year-old great grandchild, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 at her daughter’s home on March 10, 2021, at 2:32 AM in Orange, Texas, surrounded by her family that loved and adored her more than anything else in this world.
Granny is proceeded in death by her father, Wilber Davis Tarver; mother, Amy Bordelon Tarver; husband, L.C. “Carriol” Rodrigue; son, Kurt Rodrigue; daughter-in-law, Mary “Andi” Rodrigue; and son-in-law, David Clark. She is survived by 5 of her 6 children including Karen Rodrigue-Varnado; Kimberly Prejean; Kerry Clark; Kinnley Rodrigue; and Kristen Rodrigue-Hanks, spouse Mark Hanks. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren April Dykes, spouse Steven “Brett” Dykes; Jessica Sparks, spouse Kevin Sparks; Jonathan Varnado; Maci Wilmore, spouse Sam Wilmore; Gavyn Hanks; great grandchildren Jade Dykes; Steven “Val” Dykes; Hensley Morgan; and the “tiny baby girl” Kollins Wilmore; her sister, Brenda Tarver Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my Mommy you’ll be.”
Private visitation will be held for family only at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, on Friday, March 12, 2021.
Immediately following, a mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Henry’s Catholic Church on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with entombment directly afterwards at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Mark Hanks, Gavyn Hanks, Jonathan Varnado, Steven “Brett” Dykes, Steven “Val” Dykes, Kevin Sparks, Sam Wilmore, and Blake Ware.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Granny’s name to the Bridge City/Orangefield Ministerial Alliance Food Bank.
St. Henry's Catholic Church requires all attendees to wear masks while in attendance for Ms. Rodrigue's funeral.
