Adelle Coffman

March 2, 1933 — September 1, 2024

Beaumont, Texas

Adelle Coffman, 91, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on September 1, 2024.

Born in Pitkin, Louisiana, on March 2, 1933, she was the daughter of Benjamin Woods and Sarah Kizar Woods. Throughout life, Adelle developed a passion for travel, particularly enjoying trips to Las Vegas where she embraced the excitement of gambling. This adventurous spirit was matched only by her profound love for sports, with a special affection for the Houston Astros, which she followed with great enthusiasm through the years. Family was at the heart of Adelle’s life; she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always eager to spend time with them and revel in their achievements and joy. Her home was a welcoming space, often filled with laughter and cherished memories created alongside her loved ones. Adelle was also a devoted cat lover. She was often seen sitting on her porch, observing her cats with a peaceful demeanor that reflected her gentle nature. As we remember Adelle, we celebrate her passions, her devotion to family, and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to cross her path. Her radiant spirit will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George M. Coffman; her son, Gordon Coffman; and her parents, Benjamin and Sarah Kizar Woods.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Woods and husband Larry and Cathy Barrett and husband Kevin; her grandchildren, Brandi Crabtree and husband Bob, Megan Barrett, and Christopher Woods; her great grandchildren, Savannah Crabtree and Jackson Crabtree; many other loving nieces, nephews, and family; and special friends Sarah Elliott and Ashlynn Bush.
