Adolph Hryhorchuk

Adolph Hryhorchuk, 83, of Orange, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Community Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverends Ronnie Johnson, David Berkheimer and Daniel Rose. The eulogy will be given by Mr. Johnny Hawkins.

Burial will follow at Deweyville Cemetery in Deweyville.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Deweyville on September 7, 1926, he was the son of Mary and John Hryhorchuk.

For many years, Coach Hryhorchuk was a basketball coach at area high schools, including the former West Orange High School, where he also served as Athletic Director. He then went on to become superintendent of Hudson ISD and Warren ISD.

He was inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor. He was founder of Earth, Love and Protect It and a dedicated member of Body Workz Fitness Center. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of WWII.

Coach Hryhorchuk was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of Community Church in Orange. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, spending many hours working with his grandchildren in their sporting activities. He also loved working in his garden.

Coach Hryhorchuk is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Janell Hryhorchuk of Orange; daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Darrell Ford of Orange, Cindy and Paul Skinner of Sour Lake, Susan and Felipe Subia, Jr. of Lumberton; and son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Adolph and Karen Hryhorchuk of Orange.

Also surviving are his grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Amy and Matt Bumgardner, Ty and Stacy Ford, Billy and Nicole Ford, Michelle Skinner, Ryan Skinner, Blake and Shellie King, Jacob Hryhorchuk and Tyler Hryhorchuk; great grandchildren; Brooklyn and Berkley Bumgardner and Austin King; brothers, Frank Hryhorchuk of Bridge City, Vincent Hryhorchuk of Houston; sisters, Bessie Hryhorchuk of Deweyville, Nickie Cappel of Port Neches and Katherine Mason of Deweyville.

Pallbearers will be Ty Ford, Billy Ford, Ryan Skinner, Blake King, Paul Skinner and Matt Bumgardner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Ford, Felipe Subia, Jr., Jacob Hryhorchuk and Tyler Hryhorchuk.
