Agnes H. Dixon, 93, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 10, 2018, in Jasper, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Tilley, of Faith United Methodist Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Born in Crowley, Louisiana, on August 2, 1924, she was the daughter of Haughton Hoffpauir and Lela (LeDoux) Hoffpauir. Agnes worked at Penney’s and at the Fair Store. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Agnes enjoyed crocheting, making the best fruitcake and jelly, and spending time with her children and grandchildren that she adored. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Dixon, Sr.; her brothers and sisters; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She is survived by her children, John A. Dixon, Jr. and wife Pam, of Brookeland, Molley Abshier and husband Larry, of Orange, and Jane Lampman and husband Ed, of Mauriceville; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Oscar Dixon and wife Bea, of Orange; sister-in-law, Jean Dixon; and a very special friend of hers, Clarence Kite.
Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Dixon, Jason Dixon, J.J. Dixon, Chris Lampman, Casey Abshier, and Cody Abshier. Honorary pallbearers are David Lampman and Jimbo Davis.
