Agnes Louise Mckown

Agnes Louise Forcade McKown, 97, died on November 27, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 1, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Asissi Catholic Church. Reverend Tom Phelan will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 30. from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home at 1408 W. Park Ave in Orange with a Wake service beginning at 7 :00 p.m.
Mrs. McKown was born in Century, FL on December 30, 1910. She met and married
Ernest Elmo McKown in Pensacola, FL and in 1955, they moved to Orange. She was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, TX and was a court reporter until she married. She loved to cook for family and friends and always had a smile for everyone and something nice to say.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmo McKown and her parents, Eduard and Emma Forcade. Left to cherish her memory are her two children; daughter Pat Stracener and husband, Hercel, and son Michael McKown and wife, Sylvia; two granddaughters, Angela Wright Lathrop and husband Eric, and Michele Wright Ray and husband Doyle: step granddaughter, Cynthia Hawthorn and husband, Kato; four great grandchildren, Payton and Aven Lathrop and Ashleigh and Emily Ray; two step great grandchildren, Michael and Evan Hawthorne.
Pallbearers will be Doyle Ray, Eric Lathrop, Hercel Stracener and Guy Collins.
The family sends a special thanks to her caregiver, Brenda Anderson and to Cristi Frazier and her staff for their loving care for our mother during her last year. Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Asissi Catholic Church.
