Al "A.F." Heath, 68, of Bridge City, Texas died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Orange, TX.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Boone of First Baptist Church in Bridge City, and music will be provided by Tabetha Franklin. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park Cemetery in Port Neches.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home in Bridge City.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 21, 1942, Al was the son of Alfred Heath, Sr., and Hazel Marie Woodson Heath. He worked at Dupont for 35 years, and retired as a supervisor. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson in Port Arthur in 1959. He served in the Coast Guard. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union, Local 125. He coached girls softball for many years at Bridge City Little League. He was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues in Port Arthur.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Al loved his friends and family. He was known as a hard working man who took care of things immediately. He loved the beach! He also enjoyed spending time fishing, crabbing, and working in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Al is survived by his wife of 44 years, Christine Heath; daughters, Shelley Fisette and husband Curtis of Zwolle, LA, Jennifer Moore of Bridge City; grandchildren, Jared and Kasey Fisette; sisters, Darlene Postula and husband Mike, Beverly Dugas and husband Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Curtis Fisette, Jared Fisette, Walter Postula, Joseph Postula, Danny Franklin, Clint Christopher, and Erik Postula. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Franklin, David Outhouse, Wayne Christopher, Dennis Dugas, Jeff Dumesnil, Jerry Howard, A.J. DeJohn and James P. LeBlanc.
