Albert Henry "Buddy" Murray, 61, of Orange, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Deacon Harvey DuBois will officiate. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Buddy was born November 29, 1946, in Hemphill, TX, to Luther O. and Dessie R. Boyd Murray.
Buddy retired after almost 40 years as a Boilermaker from Local #587.
He and his wife Mary were both avid classic car enthusiasts, she collected them and he loved restoring them. He was a member of Gulf Coast Cruisers and the Orange Peel-Out Car Club.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dessie R. Murray and brother, Larry B. Murray.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary C. Murray of Orange, father Luther O. Murray and his wife Jackie of Vidor, son, James Walter Murray and wife Sheila of Orange; grandchild, Chase Ty Murray of Orange; brothers and sisters, Jim and wife Pat Murray of Bridge City, Bill Murray of Bon Wier, Tom Murray and wife Karen of Humble and Pamela Joyce and husband Joe of Vidor; surviving him also are numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Frederick, James Frederick, Michael Murray, Shannon Walsh, Terry Childers, Clay Herford and Sandy Kirkland.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Gulf Coast Cruisers and Orange Peel-Out Car Club.
