Alice Doucet Broussard, 80, died, Sunday, June 10, 2007 in Orange.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m, Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Harold Nazworth of Orangefield Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.
A visitation will be held form 5-8 p.m, Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Claybar Funeral Home.
Mrs. Broussard was born June 26, 1926 in Church Point, Louisiana, to Julian and Louisa Johnson Doucet. Mrs. Broussard was a housewife and loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She also loved to cook.
Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Joseph Broussard, and her granddaughters; Alice Newsom, Lucy Ann and Terry.
She is survived by her daughters; Leana Broussard, and Yvonne Toohey and her husband Glenn, all of Orange. Mrs. Broussard is also survived by her three grandchildren; Susan and Husband William Mohan, Glen and wife Betty Childers, and Sharron and husband Speedy Stakes; ten great-grandchildren, Lucas, William, Jacqulyn, Cameron, Colby, Cassidy, Carissa, and Josef; seven Great-Great grandchildren her sisters, Lydia Sims and husband Roy of Rosenburg, TX, Mary Broussard and husband Otis of Orange, Lucy Chevlon and husband Chubby of New Iberia, LA, and her brothers; George Doucet and wife Marsha of Nederland, Joseph Doucet of Orange, and Camey Doucet and wife Deanna of Lafayette, LA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Toohey, Glen Childers, William Mohan, Todd Oldham, Nelson Broussard, and Kim Smith.
The family wishes to thank Odyssey Hospice of Texas for their caring and compassion shown to Alice during her illness of Alzheimer?s Disease. Also thanks to Joe for all the help and Jake Abear for the music.
