After graduating from high school in Diboll, she moved to Port Arthur, Tx, met Matthew Jugovatz and was married in June of 1947 after he proposed to her at the top of the Rainbow Bridge. She was a loving wife to Matt for 68 years.

Over the years Marie worked several jobs in Port Arthur at South Western Bell, Gulf Oil and Sandoz Chemical before retiring in 1992. After retiring Matt and Marie enjoyed traveling in their RV with friends and family.
