Angela Kay Pousson

1964 ∼ 2025

Angela Kay Pousson, 60, of Lufkin and Orange, Texas, was summoned to her heavenly home on June 23, 2025, in Lufkin, TX. She was born in Orange, TX on August 8, 1964, the youngest of six, to Eugene and Ruth Pousson.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents Eugene H Pousson, Ruth LaCombe Pousson and her brother Benny R. Pousson all of Orange.

Surviving Angela are her brother Ray Pousson (Melissa), sisters Sheila Lathrop (William), Freda Rast (Johnny) all of Orange, and Anita Williams (Steve) of Grove, Oklahoma, Aunt Marjorie LaCombe of Sulphur, LA. and her special nieces and nephews: Chuck Riley, Chelsea Erickson, Meagan James, Justine Sharpe, Benjamin Pousson, Taylor Pousson, Skyler Lathrop, Eric Lathrop, Julie Gunter and Amanda Brown along with their spouses and children.

Angela lived most of her life at Lufkin State Supported Living Center where she happily resided for over 50 years with her best friends. While there, she attended school, participated in numerous scholastic and extracurricular activities. She also worked in the campus workshop, from where she retired.

She was active with the Special Olympics for several years when she was younger, but Angela truly favored her music classes. She competed for many years in Music Festivals all over the state of Texas, winning many trophies and ribbons. Angela also loved time with her family and friends, traveling to new places on vacation, writing, coloring, watching Disney movies and listening to show tunes and country music artists. Everyone that knew Angela knew that her favorite holidays were Christmas and her Birthday Month! Angela was a proud breast cancer survivor and was recognized at the Annual Angelina Rodeo as the Susan Komen Hero Rodeo Queen.

Angela was different from most of us and required our extra love and care during her life. She was God’s gift to our family as well as every one of our friends and extended family members. Angela was truly a light in our lives as she embodied kindness, humor and love to everyone who knew her. God entrusted us with sweet Angela for 60 years and He has now called her to His side where she will again be joined with her beloved mother, father and brother. Baby sister, you are now perfect and free from your worldly constraints and will forever be our Special Little Angel.

Angela was truly an angel and certainly made my life blessed by knowing her. I know her spirit is now free from all the complications of her body. My husband (Chaplain Billy D Dunn) were fortunate to work at the Lufkin State Supported Living Centr from 1972-2006. Our life was enriched every day. Thank you for sharing Angela with us. Deepest condolences to the family.
