Anita Hudson, 86, of Orange, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, in Orange.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with Danny Gilliam officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Anita was born on March 15, 1924 in Orange. She was the daughter of Savan and Eola Peveto Smith. Anita worked at the shipyard for the U.S. Navy during WWII. She later went to work for a while at Callahans which was later named Alfords.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Curtis N. Hudson; parents, Savan Smith and Eola Peveto Smith; brothers and sisters, Evelyn Peveto, Lucille Lassiter, Albert Smith, Grace Thomas, Luther Smith, and Lyndell Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, William D. and Sharon Hudson of Bridge City and Edward A. and Louise Hudson of Marshall; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn C. and James Parsons of Dayton; grandchildren, Douglas Wayne Hudson and wife, Shawn, Ginger Gayle Joiner, and Traci Michelle Hudson; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Joiner, Veronica, Vivian, Zachary, and Valerie Hudson.
The family would like to thank The Meadows and the Odyssey Healthcare Hospice for their hard work, kindness and compassion shown to Anita during her final days.
