Anne Materne, 97, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010 in Sugar Land, Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Officiating will be Reverend Joseph P. Daleo. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 8, 2010 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Anne was born on November 1, 1912 in Cleveland, Ohio to Michael and Mary Latcko Perhac. She was a member of the Gray Ladies and the Catholic Daughters. Anne was the last surviving charter member of the Orange County Association for Retarded Children OCARC.
Anne is preceded in death by her husband, James M. Materne and her granddaughter, Janis Nova Materne.
She is survived by her children, James Michael Materne of Sugar Land, Nancy Dale and husband, Eugene of Sugar Land, and Charlie Materne or Orange; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Materne, Michael Dale, Gene Dale, Mathew Dale, and Charlie Materne.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the OCARC, 905 West Park, Orange, Texas 77630.
