Annie Mae Wilkinson, 95, of Orange, Texas, passed away on August 6, 2017, in Brownwood TX.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday August 19, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be her grandson by marriage, Aaron Terry. Burial will follow the service at Dorman Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home.
Born in Eunice, Louisiana, on January 11, 1922, Annie was the daughter of Roscoe Vance Young and Edna Louise Laughlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first two children, Dorothy (Dottie) Elizabeth Cumby, and Ronald Wesley Cumby, her children’s father, Harry C. Wilkinson; brothers, J.A. Young, Lloyd Young, Perkins Young, and Charles Young; sisters, Dorothy Heights, Ernie Wilkinson, Odell Nelams, Anna Lou (Tiny) McReynolds, Janette Siau, and Cloy Irene Young.
Annie is survived by her children, Harriot Sue Jaynes and husband Danny, of Brownwood, Michael Wayne Wilkinson, of Lumberton, and Ethel Wynn Marchand and husband Ervin, of Bridge City; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren, dearly loved sister-in-laws; Sybil Young, Betty Young, Delores Young and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Things Annie will be remember for is her feisty go getter attitude towards life. And her willingness to sit down with neighbors, friends and family and reminisce about the past. Her children and relatives count it a blessing to have had one last reunion in November of 2016.
