Annie Laureen "Coonie" Corkran, 59, of Bridge City, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Charles Miller, pastor of First Baptist Church in Groves. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home in Bridge City.
Born in Natchitoches, Louisiana on February 14, 1954, Coonie was the daughter of James and Melba Irene Wallace Philen. She started her legal career working for several attorneys and judges. Coonie worked as the food and beverage supervisor at Delta Downs since the day it opened. One of Coonie's greatest passions was fishing.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Philen; and sister, Helen Sue Philen.
Coonie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Cody and Kelli Corkran of Bridge City; son, Calvin Corkran of Bridge City; the father of her children, Dale Corkran; grandchildren, Kiegan, Kaydence, Trent and Ethan Corkran; sister, Kim Philen of Dayton; and numerous other family and friends.
