Arlon and I were friends at Texas A&M. We were in the same unit my junior year before I went to the Brigade Staff my senior year. Returning to Texas after a life every where but here, one of my to do list was to find Arlon and rekindle the friendship that we once had. Arlon was special to me as he probably was to most who knew him. I will regret to my dying day not making the effort to find him and celebrate our lives together as we draw near the end. Tomorrow will not be another day, I miss him. Robert Swain '62

Our time in Orange was greatly enhanced by knowing Arlon through DuPont. He worked with Tom and he and Lynn became our friends during the 10 years we were there. He was a super guy, cared for others and did good work for Tom while at the plant. He always invited Tom and Robert Sims to his awesome cabin he and Lynn had built at Toledo Bend which they celebrated whether they caught a mess of fish or not. He was a remarkable fellow and so out going with everyone he came in contact with. I can't remember another guy who was so kind and a friend to everyone. I hope Lynn has good memories of Arlon and shares them with his grandchildren and all who ask about him. I'm sure that the Lord has welcomed him to his heavenly home and that one day we'll see our dear friend once more. Rest now Arlon, you deserve it so much!! Sad in our hearts, Tom & Sue Myers Missouri City TX

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend, Arlon Fields. Arlon's friendship was one of the highlights of my career at DuPont. He was my mentor, my coach, my cheerleader and my friend, just as he was to so many others. I send my sincere condolences to Lynn, Duane and Travis and to all whom Arlon held dear. I take comfort and joy in knowing that the repose of Arlon's soul lies with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I pray that Light Perpetual shines upon him. Sincerely, Linda Parker Dearing Koonce

I went to Anderson elementary school with Arlon. We had a square dance group and Arlon and I were partners. We both really enjoyed the two years we danced together and over the years we reminisced about those fun grade school days and our favorite teacher Mrs. Bunn. He was a vital part of our class reunions and will really be missed by everyone. Lynn you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love to you and your family. Sharon Schmidt
