Arnold Rudolph Vickers
Arnold Rudolph Vickers, 85, of Orange, died Saturday, November 30, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be David Curry, minister of Fellowship Church of Christ in Orange. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange. Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Vickers, Chris Vickers, James Truncale, Cade Allen, William Hamilton and Cullen Smith. Honorary Pallbearer will be J.W. Wilkerson.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Born in Jasper on March 8, 1928, Arnold was the son of Robert and Alice (McFatter) Vickers. Arnold served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict where he received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was an operator at Texaco. He was a member of Fellowship Church of Christ.

For the last three years, Arnold was able to enjoy the outdoors and work on his farm. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his parents and wife, Helen Vickers, Arnold is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Denise Vickers of Bridge City; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and James Truncale of Orangefield; and son, Chris Vickers and his girlfriend, Jessica Jordan of China.

Arnold is also survived by his grandchildren, Amber Vickers, Kristal Allen, Samuel Truncale, Olivia Truncale; great-grandchild, Preslee Allen; siblings, Henry Vickers and wife, Marie, Huey Vickers and wife, Dee, Reverend Nay Vickers and wife, Irene, Lois Johnson, Nonnie Lee Manuel, Bonnie Darby, Margaret Mancil, Doris Gonzales, Monnie Sue LaFleur and husband, Gerald; and his special friend, Vedna Lester.
