Atwood Reid Taylor, 84, of Orange, died, Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at his residence.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Reverend Kevin Trinkle, Chaplain of Hermann Memorial Baptist Hospital in Orange will officiate. Interment will be at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.
Visitation will be 5:00-10:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor was born June 7, 1923, in St. Augustine, FL, to Thomas Taylor and Jane Admas Taylor.
Atwood was a U.S. Army, WWII Veteran and previously worked at Levingston Shipbuilding as a pipefitter.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Jane Taylor, his loving wife of 50 years, Edna, four sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his sons Thomas Reid Taylor, Sr., and, Danny Lee Taylor and his wife Freda of Sulphur, LA, daughter, Linda Dian Duke and husband John of Orange; eight grandchildren and many, many great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Taylor, Brent Taylor, John Duke, Jr., James Taylor, Tommy Taylor and Bobby Scott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Welch and Mike Redd.
