Barbara Jean Honeycutt, 81, of Bridge City, passed away on April 18, 2021.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jay Thomas of MacArthur Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on November 18, 1939, she was the daughter of Alvin Louis Blackburn and Tester (LaBorde) Blackburn. Barbara Jean worked for many years as a Secretary for different school districts. She was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City. In her younger years Barbara Jean was a member of a bowling league and loved traveling. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and fellow residents at Pinecrest Retirement Community. Barbara Jean loved her family dearly and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lance Honeycutt, Jr.; parents, Alvin and Tester Blackburn; brothers, William Paul Blackburn and Alvin Louis Blackburn; grandson, Travis William Allen; and her beloved dog, Scooter.
She is survived by her children, Regina Allen and husband Terry of Orange and Robin Clark of Groves; stepchildren, Vicki Aven and husband Tommy of Pearland, Tammy Nobles and husband Jerry of Tomball, Kay Mahon of Orange, and Lance Honeycutt, III and wife Dakota of Bridge City; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and her special friend Jack.
