Barbara Babington LaGrappe, 87, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2023, in Groves, Texas.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Father Ernie Carpio. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. The recitation of the rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Born in Tyler, Texas, on August 12, 1935, she was the daughter of George Allen Crawford and Ila Rene (Bugg) Crawford. Barbara dedicated her life to the Lord and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church where she frequently volunteered. She participated in the Altar Society, Bereavement Committee, Monday Money Counter, Social Committee, Young at Heart, and was in charge of Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Barbara was employed as a pharmacy technician for eChart Healthcare (formally Eckards) and Kroger. During her free time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and baking. She was known for her coconut cream pie and chocolate pie. Barbara loved spending time with her friends, especially playing bingo, at the Bridge City Senior Citizen Hall. She had a good heart and was always there for everyone. Barbara’s loved ones will always cherish the memories they have of her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ila Crawford; first husband, Richard Babington, and second husband; N.N. “Joe” LaGrappe; brothers, Sammy Crawford and Joe Crawford and wife, Leslie; son, Richard A. Babington; grandson, Jack Babington; and brother-in-law, Ray Campbell.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Gauthier and husband, Russell of Bridge City, Brenda McPhearson and husband, Wayne of Bridge City, and Linda Juneau and husband, Louis of Orangefield, Texas; son, Doug Babington and wife, Jennifer of San Diego, California; step-daughter, Melissa LaGrappe of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandchildren, Kara Ricks and husband, Billy, Luke Wolfford, Lana Richards and husband, Jonithan, Chas Gauthier and wife, Haley, Sara Beaugh and wife, Emily, Jason Addison and wife, Amanda, Joshua Juneau, Kacy Brevell and husband, Daniel, Ava Babington, Riki Babington, Amy Babington, David Babington and wife Denise, and Ila Perry and husband, Robert; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Campbell; sisters-in-law, Jeanie Logdson and husband, Earl, and Effie Crawford; as well as numerous loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Wolfford, Chas Gauthier, Jason Addison, Joshua Juneau, Riki Babington, David Babington, Cade Tompkins, and Asher Addison.
