Barbara Ann Battle Ramirez

Barbara Ann Battle Ramirez, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed away at home on September 23, 2025.

Born in Dayton, Texas, on February 4, 1952, Barbara lived a life filled with creativity, compassion, and connection. She worked for many years as a secretary then an insurance clerk in doctors’ offices, always bringing warmth and kindness to those she served.

Barbara’s heart was happiest when surrounded by books, fabric, and good conversation. A gifted crafter, she found joy in all types of crafts—especially in “the cave,” the craft building she shared with her beloved husband Roland Ramirez, where imagination flowed through their various hobbies.

Barbara never met a stranger. Her love of people and her gift for conversation made her a cherished presence in every room. She is survived by her devoted husband Roland and her loving daughter Rusti and husband Troy Girolamo. She also leaves behind her sister Mary Beth Jones and husband Tony; grandsons Dylan and Tyler Girolamo; and great-grandsons Gabriel and Mace.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Barbara Battle; her brother John Battle; nephews Curtis Peddy and Cecil Anthony (CJ) Jones.

Her family will hold a memorial gathering for family and friends to visit and to celebrate her life on Saturday, October 4, 2025 2pm - 5pm at Liberty Baptist Church in Bridge City, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local library or arts organization in Barbara’s honor—reflecting her lifelong love of learning, creativity, and community.
