Barbara A. “Bobbye” Schmitt, 90, of Lumberton was born October 20, 1927 in Denver, Colorado to the late Elmer John and Florence W. Muehlig and passed away September 5, 2018 in Lumberton, Texas.
A former longtime resident of Beaumont, Bobbye was a homemaker and member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont with Reverend Jason Richards, pastor of Lifepoint Church officiating. A private entombment will be held on Monday in the columbarium of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quentin Robert Schmitt; sister, Emily Razee; and brother, Alan Muehlig.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Burges and husband, William of Castroville, Texas; son, Kent A. Schmitt and wife, Elena of Lumberton; grandchildren, Rebecca Anne Weikel and husband, John, Matthew Aaron Chestnut and wife, Ruth; great-grandchildren, Caleb Weikel, Lydia Weikel, Abigail Weikel and Jesse Chestnut.
