Ms. Bennie was an amazing woman. If you spent any time at all with her, you wouldn't forget her. My brother only met her once on one of his visits to Texas, about 20 years ago and still talks about her, how funny she was and how good the stuffed jalapenos she made were. I loved our adventures, our trip to Missouri to visit my family and all of our talks and laughs on her porch. I love the way she could make my husband blush way back when we were just dating and the way she blushed when she had a (very funny) slip of the tongue when she met my dad. She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She loved and was always very proud of her family. I am so sorry for your loss.

I would like to say Aunt Bennie will be missed by several friends and family. I can remember some wonderful times with her. She was a very loving and caring person. She was a jokester. She loved catching people not looking and do something crazy. I know a few stories but my Brother Scott I’m sure will share some stories that will make all laugh. She was a good beautician. I can remember her piercing my ears with ice and needle. One story I would like to share is I spent the night with Aunt Bennie and Uncle John, I was sick and couldn’t stay out of bathroom and I was told to take Alka Seltzer to make me feel better. From that day on I will not take Alka Setzer. I hear the fizz or watch it fizz I automatically run to the bathroom to get sick. But Aunt Bennie made sure I got better.

I remember the first time I met Aunt Bennie, she lived next door to Granny and Papaw Jack and I came down with Mamaw (Kathleen) and Papaw (Tom) Owens. Beth and I walked to the hair salon and we got to sit and talk with her while she worked. She was special. Just a few years ago for Papaws (Tom) birthday we were there and I made Aunt Bennies Butter Roll and I got to talk to her. Though I didn't get the chance to know her real well she held a special place in my heart, I am thinking of you all in this time.
