Betty Jean Comeaux

Betty Jean Comeaux, 84, of Orange, Texas, passed away on July 18, 2024, peacefully at home. 

 

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Deacon Melvin Payne. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

 

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with a Rosary starting at 5:30 p.m.

 

Born on January 3, 1940, in Kinder, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Nathan Pelican and Mary (Fontenot) Pelican. Betty was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Throughout her life, Betty found great joy in collecting various items and had a passion for watching western movies. Traveling the world alongside her husband, she cherished the adventures they shared together. Betty's proudest accomplishments revolved around her family, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being above all else. She was a dedicated member of St. Mary Catholic Church and exemplified unwavering devotion as an army wife. Betty will be dearly missed but forever remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy of love lives on in the hearts of those she touched.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Mary Pelican; her husband, Francis Comeaux, Sr.; granddaughter Rachel Comeaux; sister Alice Sharp; and brother Matthew Pelican.

 

She is survived by her sons, James Comeaux and wife, Darcy, Frank Comeaux Jr. and wife, Jill, and Mike Comeaux and wife Monica; daughter, Lisa Jones and husband Steve Shaw; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Comeaux, Rebekah Comeaux, Steve Shaw, James Comeaux, Michael Comeaux, Mark Hilton. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Comeaux.
