Born in Amarillo, Texas, on May 21, 1947, she was the daughter of Jessie Leon Leard and Bertha Hamel Leard. As an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, she lived her life with a deep devotion that was evident in her daily practice of reciting the rosary. Her faith was a guiding force, and she took part in Bible study with the Bible Study Fellowship International, fostering her love for spiritual growth. Professionally, Betty made a significant impact as a paraprofessional in the life skills program at LCM Highschool, where her patience and nurturing nature profoundly affected the lives of many students. She found great joy in sharing her culinary skills, often engaging her students in making cheese logs for the holidays which was the largest fund raiser of the year, a testament to her caring approach and love for teaching. Betty's creativity extended beyond her profession; in her younger years she found immense pleasure in crocheting, transforming yarn into beautiful pieces that reflected her vibrant personality. Her zest for life was infectious; she delighted in singing and dancing, always ready to create joyful memories with those around her. Family was at the center of Betty's world. Known affectionately as "Memaw" and "Meme" to her grandchildren, she cherished every moment spent with them, embodying the role of a devoted grandmother who placed her family as her number one priority. Her outgoing nature and big personality left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories and hearts of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Bertha Leard; and her loving husband of 46 years, Nolan Guidroz, Sr.

She is survived by her children, Nolan Guidroz, Jr. and wife, Rhonda, Tammy Menard and husband, Dean, Jessica Garcia and husband, Rene’, and Jason Guidroz and wife, Erin; her grandchildren, Heath Elmore, Norman Elmore and wife, Brittany, Lindsey Gilbreath, Bailey Thompson and husband, Tanner, Victoria Garcia, Emma Humplik, Chase Garcia, Jackson Humplik, Jeslyn Guidroz, Isabella Garcia, Colt Guidroz, and Beau Guidroz; her 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; her siblings, Charles Leard and wife, Kris, and Sandy Maggio; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
