Betty McHugh Roach

November 3, 1929 — November 21, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty McHugh Roach, 79, of Orange, TX will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in the chapel of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, TX with the Rev. Bill Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange, TX.

Mrs. Roach died November 21, 2008 at her residence where she moved to in West Monroe, La.
to be close to her children during her illness.

Mrs. Roach was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Robert "Bobby" McHugh, Jr. and sister, Evelyn Marie Milligan.

Betty lived a full and happy life. What she enjoyed the most was traveling, camping with her friends and playing cards with the ladies. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her strong will and lighthearted sense of humor and great advice.

Survivors: Husband, James Robert "Bob" Roach of Orange, TX; Son- Dr. J. B. Duke McHugh and wife, Leisha of West Monroe, LA; Daughters, Tina Edgerton of West Monroe, LA and Stephanie Ann McHugh of Houston, TX; Grandchildren, Courtney Sonnier and husband, Tim, Abby and Will McHugh, Nikki, Emily and Maddie Johnson; Great Grandchildren, Daniel Sonnier, Lauren Dear and Logan Johnson; Step Daughters, Kathy Hawkins and husband, Johnny of Lufkin, TX, Janet Smith and husband, Donald of Springfield, MO; Step Grandchildren, Shawn Slocum and wife, Traci, John Harvey Slocum and wife, Theresa and Bryan Hawkins; Step Great Grandchildren, Tayler, Jordyn, Haley and Jaxon Slocum.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Sonnier, Chuck Steele, Johnny Hawkins, John Harvey Slocum, Peter Withers, Bryan Hawkins, and Jerry Louis Fairchild.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Will McHugh and Shawn Slocum

Visitation will be from 4:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, TX

The family would like to give special thanks to Premier Hospice Mary and Zola for their loving care, and Ms. Emma Newton for all of the extra special attention.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Childrens' Hospital.

Duke and Leisha would like to give a special thank you for the extraordinary loving care Tina Marie gave our mother during her illness.
