Betty Jane McLin
Betty J. McLin, 89, of Port Neches, formerly of Beaumont, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Betty was born to William and Helen Edwards in Norfolk, Virginia on March 25, 1930 and was the 11th of 14 children. Betty married Lloyd “Red” McLin in January of 1949 and together raised one son, Lloyd Emmett.
Betty, better known to her family as Mima, left an impression on everyone who came to know her and never met a stranger. She attended Southside Baptist Church in Port Neches, and previously was a well-loved member of South Park Baptist Church in Beaumont. Betty was also a long-time volunteer at Baptist Hospital and was honored for her work within the hospital. Anyone who knew Betty knew she was most proud of her 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Lloyd and Dolores McLin of Port Neches; grandchildren, Lisa Dodson, Stefanie (Matthew) Monk, and Ryan McLin; great grandchildren, Zoren, Aubrey, Olive, and Mateo, and several other nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Betty’s thoughtful caregivers, Tina Newcomb, Paula Robinson, and the staff of Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation.
