May 25, 1931 — May 17, 2014

Betty Sue Wilson Storey
An angel was called to heaven on Saturday, May 17, 2014 as Betty Sue Wilson Storey, 82, of Bridge City departed this earth at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. Born to be a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Betty enjoyed a full life supporting, guiding, leading, and inspiring her family and friends. She joined us on May 25, 1931 in Jasper, Texas, graduated from Jasper High School in 1948, and made a career out of making the lives of the people she touched so much better.

As a true patriot, she was a pillar of support to her husband throughout his military career and inspired and encouraged her son, grandson, and great grandson to serve their country. Believing in the strength of family, she created, nurtured, and leaves behind a legacy of love.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband and Sailor, Vern Lee Storey, her son, Joe Langston Sr., both of Bridge City, and her brother Bobby Wilson survived by his wife, Jo of San Diego, CA. Left to honor her memory are her brothers, Louis Wilson of Jasper, TX, and Jeff Wilson of Greenville, NC; sons, Gary Storey Sr. of Maryland, Douglas and his wife Dawn Storey of Jacksonville, FL., Chad and his wife Amy Langston, and Brad Langston both of Bridge City; daughter, Vicki and her husband Skipper Nixon of Bridge City; grandchildren, Joe Langston Jr., Monica and husband Mark Biggs, Jennifer Nixon, Allison Nixon, Merri Anne Nixon, Lauren Storey, Christopher Storey, Helen Storey, Gary Storey Jr., Stephanie Storey, and 7 great grandchildren.

Viewing is to be held Tuesday, May 20th from 6:00-9:00pm at Claybar Funeral Home, 504 5th Street, Orange, Texas. Services are at 11:00am, Wednesday May 21, 2014 at First Baptist Church, 200 W. Roundbunch, Bridge City, Texas, officiated by Pastor Lynn Ashcraft and Darrell Segura. Betty’s final resting follow services at 2:00pm in Holton Cemetery, Beech Grove, Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers are Louis Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Skipper Nixon, Chad Langston, Brad Langston, and Bradley Maki.

While tributes of flowers are most welcome, her family has requested donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the National Federation of the Blind.

Betty came into the world loved, but she left it loved even more by the lives she created, touched, and made even better.
