Bettye Dawson Richmond

July 23, 1927 — June 16, 2012

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, educator, died June 16th. She was 1st born of three children to William Noah Dawson, II and Ruth Vee Colleps on July 23, 1927.

She was a retired teacher of 40 years of service with Beaumont, old South Park and Lumberton ISD's. She served as President of Beaumont Retired Teachers' Assn. for two terms.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to the old antebellum homes along the Mississippi River.

She loved the Lord, her church and the pastor of her church, having served as Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent of Sunday School. She also had training at The Methodist Center at Sequoia, AR.

She is survived by husband, Earl, daughter, Krissy of Houston, son, Roger and wife, Brenda of Austin. Also survived by granddaughters, Kaylea Michele Deason of Beaumont, Jennifer LeeAnn Shortess of Baton Rouge, brother, Tom Dawson and wife Gay of New Braunfels, TX. She was preceeded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Dawson.

Gathering of relatives and friends will be Monday, June 18th from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, June 19th at Wesley United Methodist Church with burial at Forest Lawn.
