Betty Ruth Gabbard Smith

Betty Ruth Gabbard Smith went to be with her Lord on September 5, 2009. Betty was 72 years of age, born on February 18, 1937 in Foreman, Arkansas to Everett and Idell Gabbard.
Betty and William Elmer Smith married December 23, 1952 and they were blessed with two children. One son, Bruce Dewayne Smith and wife, Renee of Mauriceville, Texas and one daughter, Carolyn Ann Andrus and husband, Thomas of Bridge City, Texas; three grandchildren, Jeremy and wife, Holly Smith of Little Cypress, Texas, Justin Smith of Mauriceville, Texas, and Eric and wife, Elysia Andrus of Bridge City, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Smith of Little Cypress and Cyann Sandoval of Bridge City; three brothers, Louis and wife, Caren Gabbard of Pryor, Oklahoma, Leroy and wife, Jackie Gabbard of Miami, Oklahoma, and Tony Gabbard of Branson, Missouri; and four sisters, Barbara and husband, WC Stuart of Foreman, Arkansas, Clara and husband, Ron Betts of Magnolia, Arkansas, Diane and husband, Wayne Nolen of Foreman, Arkansas, and Deborah Rogers of Texarkana, Texas.
She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Betty and William established Central Office Supply in Bridge City in 1975; she was also a proud member of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Brad Morgan of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Wilton Cemetery in Wilton, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church building fund, 1155 W. Round Bunch Rd., Bridge City, TX 77611.
