Bill Self, 81, of Orange, died on December 5, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home's temporary location at 1408 W. Park in Orange. Reverend David Clark will officiate with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.
Mr. Self was born on February 1, 1927, at Hemphill, TX. to Marion Chester and Selma Lillian Currie Self.. He worked as a boilermaker with Local 587 and was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea and Germany. He was a member of the Orange VFW Post.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley; brothers, Herman and Mark Self and great-grandchild, Alexander Weaver. He is survived by his daughter, Patresa Charles Premick of Pittsburgh, PA; son, Mickey M. Self I of Orange, TX and daughter Evelyn Rinaman of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Betty L. Byley and grandchildren, Mickey, Billy, Justin, Lacy, Jordan, Lindsay, Lauren and Joshua; and six great-grandchildren.
