Born in Ratcliff, Texas, on April 10, 1940, she was the daughter of Robert Press and Addie Mae Griggs. Billie moved to Lufkin, Texas at the age of two and graduated from Lufkin High School in 1958, where she was a Drum Major in the band. She met and married the love of her life, Travis M. Allen; they went on to start a family and moved to Orange Texas in 1969. Billie began working at the age of 15 and continued working until she retired at 81 years of age; spending 48 years in the medical field. She had a profound love of the Lord and was very active with the youth groups at church. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, crochet, making stained glass, and tending to her flowers and plants. Billie was a true matriarch, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Thanksgiving and Christmas were always special family events; no toy was too difficult to find. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 ½ years, Travis M. Allen; her parents, Robert Press and Addie Mae Griggs; her grandson, Travis William Allen; her sister, Louise Brashear; and brothers, Murph Griggs, G.H. Griggs, and Lonnie Griggs.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Allen and wife Regina; her daughters, Rhonda Block and husband Mark, and Laura Allen; her grandchildren, Kayla Brown and husband Micheal, and Britney Sanford and husband Nathan; her great-grandchildren, MiCayla Brown, Bryleigh Brown, Liliana Sanford, Olivia Sanford and Rickie Sanford; her sister-in-law, LaVelle Griggs; added member of the family, Charmaine Miranda; along with numerous other loving friends and family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Micheal Brown, Nathan Sanford, Martin Brashear, Chip Brashear, Kevin Brashear and Tyler Vayon. Honorary pallbearers are Travis William Allen, Randall Brashear, and Glenda Brashear.
