Billie King Brown

Billie King Brown, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Bridge City, Texas passed away on October 29, 2013, at the age of 95 years (young). Billie was born to H. Patton and Faye Patton on August 30, 1918 in Huttig, Arkansas. She married Wm L. "Buddy" Brown in October of 1941.

Billie was artistic and enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, and traveling with family and friends. She loved her church family, where she was a member for many years, at Winfree Baptist Church in Orange, Texas. Billie was a loyal fan of all her great-children's sports and activities. Her twenty-one great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren brought her tremendous joy.

She is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Travis King; 2nd husband, Wm L. "Buddy" Brown; daughter, Beth Self; sisters: Jimmie Lobb and Tommie Patton; brother, Gene Brown; and her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Earline Gipson of Georgetown, Texas; son Jimmy Brown and wife Darlene of Thornton, Texas; grandsons: Tod Gipson, Ty Gipson of both Georgetown, Texas, Robert Brown of Bridge City, Texas, Mark Self of Orange, Texas, Michael Self of Groves, Texas; granddaughters: Gia McEntire of Georgetown, Texas, Tammy Whitehead, Terri Goodwin both of Orange, Texas. Donna Peveto of Austin, Texas, and Dana Smith of Orange, Texas; nephew, Richard Lobb of Orange, Texas; along with her great and great-great grandchildren. Proverbs 17:6 Children's children are a crown to the aged and parents are the pride of their children.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas with Funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Bridge City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Winfree Baptist Church, 19525 Texas 62, Orange, Texas 77630.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are: Tod Gipson, Ty Gipson, Robert Brown, Mark Self, Michael Self, and Rick McAbee. Honorary Pallbearer is Windell Hebert.
