Obituary
Billy Bryan Burgin, 85, of Starks, Louisiana, passed away on April 2, 2019, in Nederland, Texas.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Gambrell Baptist Church in Starks, Louisiana. Officiating will be Damon Bickham. Burial will follow at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields, Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Gambrell Baptist Church in Starks, Louisiana.
Born in Quitman, Texas, on April 4, 1933, he was the son of Thomas Edmond Burgin and Virginia (Jarett) Burgin. Billy was a real gun enthusiast, in the truest sense of the word. He enjoyed country life, and was incredibly proud of providing for his family. Billy was a devoted husband and a caring father, and will be endlessly missed by all those who came to know and love him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Annie Mae Bates Burgin; parents, Thomas and Virginia Burgin; and daughter-in-law, Colleen Burgin.
He is survived by his son, John Burgin of Starks, Louisiana; and sisters, Myrtle Ruth Young of Mena, Arkansas, and Betty Jean Dubose of Lampassas, Texas; along with 7 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Gambrell Baptist Church in Starks, Louisiana. Officiating will be Damon Bickham. Burial will follow at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields, Louisiana.
