Funeral services for Billy ?Joe? Cox, 66, of Beaumont will be Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the Charles S. Kelley Memorial Chapel at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. on Monday. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007 in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Center, Texas
Additional visitation will be Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home in Center, Texas.
Joe was born July 22, 1941 in Center, Texas to Jasper H. and Lizzie Parker Cox and passed away peacefully October 6, 2007 after a long illness. He retired as a Boilermaker with the Boilermakers Local 587 in Orange, Texas.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dewey ?Teddy Bear? Cox he is survived by his wife Portia Cox of Beaumont; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dudley and Viva Cox and Tommy and Lamerle Cox all of Shelbyville, Texas and James and Martha Cox of Carthage, Texas. He also leaves behind his god children, Courtney Tew, Brandon Tew and Laurel Olsen; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved miniature Doberman Pincher, ?Buster?.
Serving as pallbearers are Travis Risinger, Chad Adams, Evan Adams, Brandon Tew, Bubba Tew and Garrett Turk. Honorary pallbearers are Henry House, Jr.,?Paw Paw? Henson and Jim Whitmeyer.
Mr. Cox?s family wishes to send many special thanks to all the Professional Hospice nurses and private nurses, past and present, Dr. Marie Blahey and Dr. Carl Shrontz for all of the love and care shown to them during this difficult time.
