Billy Joe Garrett 98.
Born on September 10, 1927, in San Augustine Texas to Jack and Edna Garrett. He died May 15 peacefully at home.
He was a long-time businessman in Orange, running Garrett’s TV And Appliance for 30 years.
He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Upon returning to Orange after the war he met and married his wife of 73 years, Winnie Sharp. Together they had 4 children James, John, Steve and Stacey.
He and Winnie were members of Faith Methodist Church for over 75 years. He served on the board of the church many times.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Winnie and daughter Stacey. He is survived by sons James, John and Steve Garrett, he has 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was much loved and will be missed by all. Special thanks to Jennifer and staff at Best Hospice and to Esonya Delara and Jackie Guillory, his care givers.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery located at 2312 Irving Street West Orange.
