Billy Ray Moore, 79, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2018, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow the service at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on February 21, 1939, he was the son of George Moore and Hazel Ruth Hogan Moore. Billy loved animals dearly. He worked as a firefighter for the Orange County Fire Department for 35 years from 1967 – 2002 and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hazel; wife, Mildred Pauline Moore; and his brothers, Chester Moore and Jackie Moore.
Billy is survived by his children, Jeffrey Ray Moore, of Orange, Malissa Renee Faries and husband Steve, of the Woodlands, and Gregory Theron Moore and wife Shelly, of Call; grandchildren, Josh Moore, Nick Moore, Haleigh Moore, Ethan Faries, Emily Faries, Malarie Moore, and Gwen Moore; great-grandchildren, Caiden Doty, MaKenzie Doty, and Matthew Kimbro; sister, Ann Marze, of Deweyville; sisters-in-law, Gloria Moore, of West Orange and Brenda Moore, of The Cove; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
