Bliss Payne, 18, died on December 2, 2008. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Minister Tommy Gore and Youth Minister Tom Kimmey of Fellowship Church of Christ in Orange will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday at the Funeral Home.
Bliss was born July 9, 1990 to Jon Skipper and Leah Payne in Abilene, Texas. She graduated from Bridge City High School and obtained a cosmetology certificate. Bliss was a bright and beautiful girl that was full of life and spunk. She enjoyed her position as a Hair Stylist for Regis in Central Mall.
Bliss was preceded in death by her great-grandparents; Oscar and Myrle Payne and England and Doris Henson, great-grandmother; Itha Henson; great-grandfathers; Papa Slats Montgomery, J. K. Walters and John Frasier and uncle; Pat Cherry.
Bliss is survived by her loving family, parents; Jon Skipper and Leah Payne, brother; Dakota Payne, sister; Nikki Bradshaw, grandparents; Vernon and Laraine Montgomery and Joe and Dee Payne, great-grandmothers; Elwanda Frasier and Minnie Walters, Aunts and Uncles; Lance and Rachael Montgomery, Kristin Cherry, Lynn and Steve Bittinger, Daniel and Jeanne Payne and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Bliss's name to CASA of Orange, 712 W. Park, Orange, Texas 77630.
