Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Deweyville.
Born in Orange, Texas on October 3, 1941, Emily was the daughter of Hugh Preston Malone and Ella Emily (Peet) Malone. Bobby was born in Orange, Texas on August 5, 1937 to Noah Clifton Duncan and Icie Evelyn (Perry) Duncan. They wed in 1959, and have been inseperable ever since, if their close joining in heaven isn’t evidence enough. They loved seeing the world together and loved going to Branson and spending time at the lake. Together they built the life they loved and by each other’s side, nothing was impossible. They loved going out to eat at “Restrunts” as they called it and doting on each other every chance they could get. Bobby drove a racecar in his younger years, living for the adrenaline and rush. Emily loved having her nails done and never went anywhere without her lipstick. She loved flowers and watching the birds with Bobby. They adored their furbaby, Candy, who passed just last year and went everywhere with them. Although the Duncan’s family are devasted to have lost such wonderful souls, they take great comfort in knowing Bobby, Emily and Candy are together in heaven at last!
They were preceded in death by their parents; and Emily’s siblings, whom he considered his own, Vernon Malone, Preston Malone and Roy Malone, and sister, Lois Ezell Perry.
Bobby and Emily are survived by their loving daughter, Brenda Griggs and husband Jerry of Orange; grandchildren, Stephanie Jolley and husband Austin, Lacy Williams and husband Brandon, and Kami Green Godeaux; great-grandchildren, Kynsleigh Jolley, Lane Jolley, Kadence Williams, Kaleb Williams and Konner Williams; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Jolley, Jerry Griggs, Loren Green, Sidney Malone, Troy Malone and Reggie Ezell.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Rene Green for providing such wonderful end of life care for Emily. As well as a special thanks to Marty Haggard for singing at their funeral.
