Britt Nichols, 60, of Orange, passed away on September 26, 2020, with a fishing pole in his hand.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 2, 1960, he was the son of Thirmon Lloyd Nichols and Margaret (Nacol) Nichols. Britt was a hard worker who owned several businesses including, Nichols Homes, AAA Gutters, and Glynn’s Sheetmetal. He was a tugboat captain for a few years and was an offshore fishing guide. He was currently the operations manager for Tool Tech Machining and Sheetmetal. Britt was the ultimate outdoorsman as an avid duck hunter and fisherman. He participated in the S.A.L.T. tournament for 30 years. He enjoyed having fish frys and family and friend gatherings. His daughters were his pride and joy and he loved watching them in athletics. Britt left an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by father, Thirmon Nichols; brother, Clint Joseph Nichols; grandparents, Joseph and Rose Nacol.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Williams Nichols of Orange; mother, Margaret Nichols of Groves; children, Brandi Burns and husband Ryan of Orange and Kacie Nichols also of Orange; grandson, Cameron Burns; and sister, Michelle Jowett and husband Matthew of LaBelle.
A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, at The Courtyard in Groves.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society or ALS Association.
