Bruce “P-Nut” Lane Melancon, 60, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on August 21, 2020, at his home in Bridge City.
A memorial service will be at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on August 12, 1960, he was the son of Gerald Melancon and Martha (Lyons) Melancon. Bruce worked in the oilfield in his younger years and later went on to work in the flooring and construction industry. He was also a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Port Neches, Texas. Bruce loved fishing, playing pool, all things football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and watching golf. He also loved to listen to the Walton and Johnson show on the radio and old-time rock ‘n’ roll. Bruce’s great sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Martha Melancon; and his brother, Darrell Melancon.
He is survived by his better half, Cathy Swearingen of Bridge City; his loving children, Amanda Madigan and husband Craig of China, Amy Lua of Groves, Taylor Melancon and wife Bryana of Groves, and Chelsea Jennings and husband Shaun of Bridge City; his grandchildren, Kaylen, Emma, Jake, Kooper, Cayleb, Cayden, Ezra, and Oliver; his siblings, Ramona Murphy and husband David of Bridge City and Ronnie Melancon and wife Teresa of Alabama; special mom-in-law, Barbara Lout “Nan” and sister-in-law, Jimmie Taylor of Pittsburg, Texas; his fur grandbabies, Axle, Josie, and Kaylea; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
