Bruce Martin Oliver
Bruce Martin Oliver, 61, of Vidor, Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on March 5, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30am, Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas. Officiating will be Mr. John Sandvick. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas.
Visitation will be from 9:30am, Thursday, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont, Texas.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 18, 1961, He was the son of Edgar Leroy Oliver and Charlene May Oliver. Bruce was a good man that folks seemed to love. Bruce was a hard-working person that was good at anything he set his mind to. In addition to his many hobbies, he was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, and garden in his free time. Bruce loved to do anything that required him to be outside in the sunshine. He was also very passionate about his career as a machinist at Gulf Co. He was a loving husband and a doting father and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who loved him during his journey through life.
He is preceded in death by his father Edgar Leroy Oliver; daughter Wendy Oliver; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife Keata Smith; his mother Charlene May Oliver; his daughter Maggie Oliver of Port Arthur, Texas; his son Bruce Oliver II of Amarillo, Texas; sisters Debbie Lee and husband Kevin of Silsbee, Texas and Linda Oliver of Houston, Texas; brothers Marvin Oliver and wife Lindy of Center, Texas and Stanley Oliver of Kountze, Texas; several grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stanley Oliver, Marvin Oliver, Greg Mouton, Rocky Williams, Randy Gage, and Beau Oliver. Honorary pallbearer is Brandon Collins.
