Bryce Lane Vincent

1997 ∼ 2020

Bryce Lane Vincent, 23, of Orange, arrived home on July 7, 2020, in Galveston.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on February 22, 1997, he was the son of James Vincent and Terry (Smith) Echartea. He attended (rather begrudgingly) St. Mary’s grade school and LCM high school graduating in 2015. Bryce had a brilliant mind but hated attending school almost as much as he hated having to dress up, frequently being plagued with stomach aches that ended up in hunting expeditions. He worked for Newton County Maintenance/Road work as an equipment operator. Bryce was the life of every party and had a light about his soul that could be seen and felt for miles. He loved life and made every moment count. To know him, was to know love, deep belly laughs, and an incredible sense of generosity and empathy. You never knew what to expect from Bryce and he always kept you second guessing. His kindhearted and fun personality resonated with children everywhere, and he loved being surrounded by them. He was everyone’s “Uncle Bryce”. His spirit was at a constant state of bursting at the seams with adventure, energy, humor, and positivity. He was everything and more you could’ve wished from a son, a partner, a friend, a brother, and a man. Bryce, down to his very core was a good ole county boy, always helping out someone in need, and making the most of the life he was given. His happy place from the moment he was born was outdoors, enjoying floating the Guadalupe, watching car races, fixing cars, fishing, camping, and sitting around a fire surrounded by those he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Brenda Cunningham, Delores Flippen; grandfather, Wiley Smith; great-grandmother, Margie Guinn; uncle, Dewey Smith; and cousin, Dalton Martin.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Jimmy and Laura Vincent; mother and step-father, Terry and Omar Echartea; loving fiancé & his saving grace, Samantha McKellar; step-daughters, Alyssa McKellar and Skye Block; grandfather, Jerry Vincent; grandmother, Tammy Vincent; brother, Traylon Vincent; step-siblings, Gavin Cooper, Izzy Echartea, and Omar Echartea and wife Veronica; great aunt, Connie Gunn; aunts, Sherri Vincent, Amanda Owens and husband Jeremy, Madeline Martin and husband Shawn, and Lisa Smith; uncle, Jay Vincent and Aunt Nan Vincent; niece and nephew, Arah Vincent and Finn Crew; and cousins, Cody Smith, Sheridan Gallien, Abby Owens, Caleb Owens, Cody Owens, Joey Vincent, Jessica Cline and Joseph Cline; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Vincent, Omar Echartea, Omar S. Echartea, Shawn Martin, Traylon Vincent, Cody Smith, and Garrett Sepulvado.

I remember the first time I met you! Kinda hard to forget! This lanky boy walks up and asks where is Macayla? I said well who are you? You informed me that you were her big brother! Lol Well we had a small talk about me being pretty sure I knew all of my children! That’s when you told me oh you didn’t know but you adopted me 2 yrs ago! Bryce was always smiling & making those around him smile. My very favorite Bryce memory is from when he was probably barely 5 years old telling his brother, Traylon, “Tray, her looks like her needs to be kissed.” Always wanting everyone to be happy, playing matchmaker & maybe flirting just a little. Fly high, sweet boy.
