Harold Burton Simar, 86, of Orange, passed away on June 21, 2008 in Lafayette, LA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Joseph P. Daleo.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday at the church prior to the service.
Burton was born March 19, 1922 in Iota, Louisiana to Mathias and Cora Lee Prather Simar. He was a U.S. Navy and WWII veteran. He retired after 31 years of service from DuPont Sabine River Works, where he worked as an operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Cora Simar; two brothers and one sister, Roy Simar, Ivan Simar, and Sister Bernice Simar.
Burton is survived by his nephews, Ronnie Simar
and wife Janice of Scott, LA, John Keith Simar of
Orange and one niece, Norma Gaye Campbell and husband Glenn also of Orange.
Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Campbell, Ronnie Simar, Andrew Simar, Alec Savoy, Tyler Savoy, and Sharon Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be John Keith Simar and Ricky Roy.
